How to Disable ModSecurity in DirectAdmin

ModSecurity is a web application firewall that protects websites by monitoring and filtering HTTP traffic. However, there may be instances where you need to temporarily disable ModSecurity, such as during troubleshooting or testing.

Here’s how to turn off ModSecurity for a domain in DirectAdmin:

Step 1: Log in to DirectAdmin

  1. Use your username and password to log in to the DirectAdmin control panel.

Step 2: Go to ModSecurity

  • In the DirectAdmin dashboard, navigate to Advanced Features.
  • Select ModSecurity to access the settings.

Step 3: Disable ModSecurity for Your Domain

  1. In the list of domains, find the one where you want to disable ModSecurity.
  2. Set the option to OFF to turn off ModSecurity for the selected domain.
  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

Step 4: Confirm ModSecurity is Disabled

Once you save the settings, ModSecurity will be disabled for the chosen domain, allowing all requests without the firewall’s filtering.

This simple process lets you control ModSecurity’s status, which can be helpful during troubleshooting while ensuring you can reactivate it as needed for continued security.
