How to Set Up Two-Step Authentication in DirectAdmin

Two-Step Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your DirectAdmin account. Follow these steps to enable it:


Step 1: Log in to DirectAdmin

  1. Start by logging in to your DirectAdmin account with your username and password.

Step 2: Navigate to Two-Step Authentication

  • In the left-hand navigation menu, go to Advanced Features.
  • Select Two-Step Authentication from the dropdown.

Step 3: Generate a Secret Key

  1. Click on Generate Secret. This will create a unique code and display a QR code for setup.

Step 4: Set Up Google Authenticator

  1. Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.
  2. Use the app to scan the QR code displayed in DirectAdmin, or manually enter the secret key.

Step 5: Enter the Authentication Code

  1. After scanning, Google Authenticator will generate a unique 6-digit code.
  2. Enter the first code generated by the app into DirectAdmin’s input field for verification.

Step 6: Enable Two-Step Authentication

  1. Click Enable Two-Step Authentication to activate 2FA for your account.

Two-Step Authentication is now enabled on your DirectAdmin account. You will be prompted to enter a verification code each time you log in, adding extra security to your account.
